Kelsey, who hails from Queens, New York, says the current events with drastic climate changes and political injustices are what led her to take interest in environmental issues.
“Right now my main interest is to spread awareness on what’s going on and what’s not going on in the background politically; and how it affects the climate currently, which ultimately affects our future.”
Kelsey has led marches for the global climate strike on September 24, 2021, with Fridays For Future, and additional climate strikes in D.C. during the pressure on Biden to sign in the New Green Deal prior to COP26.
Kelsey and her organization also assisted in the high-profile demonstration that took over the entire Westside Highway and FDR Drive in New York City on October 25, 2021; where many protestors were linked together causing a major traffic blockage across the whole road.
Next month on March 25, 2022, Kelsey will be once again joining Fridays For Future and many other organizations in another global rally that will be taking place all around the world.
“I’m excited to join with my brothers and sister once again because, at the end of the day, we are fighting for what we love, which is our mother earth. The sad part is, we shouldn’t have to fight for cleaner resources, sustainable ways of living, things that are our natural right to have. However, there are too many corporations that profit off of destroying the earth; and that’s where they need to be stopped. “
