(Spin Digit Editorial):- Vail, Colorado Oct 15, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – The 8th Annual Eagle County Public Safety Awards will be held on Thursday evening, November 18th at the Donovan Pavilion. The event, entitled “A Night of Excellence,” was originally created by the Rotary Clubs of Eagle County after 9/11 to recognize our Public Safety Heroes; and this year, we will recognize outstanding emergency responders, medical professionals, and community leaders.

The Rotary Clubs of Eagle County and Starting Hearts will co-host this year’s special evening to honor the exceptional performance of this past year. These individuals and agencies deserve special recognition for their outstanding work every day to make our communities a safer place to live, work, and play.

“We are so happy to partner with Starting Hearts for this celebratory event next month,” stated Karl Bauer, Eagle River Fire Chief, and Edwards Rotary Club President.

Starting Hearts Executive Director Alan Himelfarb expressed, “The Night of Excellence is a wonderful opportunity to honor our county’s emergency responders in a meaningful way. For the second year, we are enormously proud to partner with the Rotary Clubs of Eagle County in hosting this important annual event.”

The awards recognize individuals and safety agencies who go above and beyond to protect Eagle County’s citizens, visitors, and property; and in so doing, contribute significantly to the public safety profession. Award categories include the following:

  • The First Responder of the Year Award is awarded to an individual who demonstrates outstanding performance throughout the year.
  • Distinguished Service Award is presented to public safety professionals in recognition of outstanding and distinguished service to the people of Eagle County.
  • Leadership Award recognizes public safety leaders who advocate and accomplish significant advances in policies and programs that benefit the safety of the people of Eagle County.
  • Call of the Year Award is awarded to an organization or employees who respond to an out-of-the-ordinary call or an incident that is unusual or rises to an exceptional level of public interest.
  • Unit Citation Award is awarded to a team of individuals working together to achieve a successful outcome on an incident.
