Beginning her medical studies at age 18 in Sweden, Dr. Bukur-Doczy graduated with her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University in 1994. She then relocated to the United States, continuing her graduate studies at Boston University in immunology and pathology. 

A researcher at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, her residency was completed at the University of Illinois. 

Beyond the usual clinical training, Dr. Bukur-Doczy’s scientific research in pathology, immunology, and microbiology gives her deep insight into pediatric medicine and a strong foundation for travel medicine.

Specializing in the health care of children, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Bukur-Doczy is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Chapter 1), the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the International Society of Travel Medicine.  

Dr. Bukur-Doczy provides expert advice to a large number of international travelers each year and Newton Pediatrics is the #1 referral office from Boston Children’s Hospital. She is involved in nurse practitioner training at Georgetown University. Pediatrics is a branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents.
