Former California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently spoke out his perspective on Sunday following the Capitol riot that shook the world collectively. In his speech, he referred to his own childhood when he was growing up in Austria post World War II after Nazism was abolished from dictatorship and existence.

Donald Trump has been a longtime advisory of Arnold’s and also a regular online foe on his Twitter posts that goes back several years.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is 73, took to various social media platforms to release a seven-and-a-half minute video. In the video, he reflected on the various events that took place during the riots in D.C. He compared this event to his experiences as a child post World War II in Austria and how the common public is susceptible to political lies and propaganda.

In the video, he kept a neutral face and said that he spent his childhood days in Austria. As a result, he was pretty aware of the policies of Kristallnacht, or the ‘Night of Broken Glass. This example referred to the various events that historians and experts believe to be the commencing point of the Holocaust. He said that the night of violence against the Jews in 1938 was inflicted by the Proud Boys, the Nazi equivalent. Comparing that even with the present scenario, he said that Wednesday was a similar day of broken glass that took place in the progressive United States.

Arnold also shared a brief story about his father who was apparently a member of the Nazi Party during the dreaded times of the Second World War.

He said that he grew up in a country that was compromised at the loss of democracy. He shared the sad story that he grew up around men who celebrated one of the evilest strategies of modern history. He also said that this was the first time he is sharing this memory publicly and said that his father would visit their home maybe once or twice a week only to take out his anger and dissatisfactions by hitting and scaring them including his mother.

However, he is empathetic about the behavior now as these men were struggling with their physical struggles of shrapnel in their body and the sense of regret over what they saw leading them to emotional pain.

He then diverted his speech by accusing Trump of misleading, ill-management, spreading hate and violence leading to what happened last week.

He made it clear that Trump tried to overturn the results of a fair election. Political dictatorship has hit modern society yet again. He was clear to say that Trump has failed as a leader and will go in history as the worst president that the country has seen. However, soon, the nightmare will be over.

In the video, he also shows a sword from Conan the Barbarian and compared it to American democracy and its sad demise.
