On Monday, Vanna White replaced Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel of Fortune, marking that she is all ready to take the center stage.
Vanna White steps in for Pat Sajak and is ready to take up hosting duties in her 37 years working on the TV game show while Sajak is back at home recovering from his emergency surgery.
With the start of the Disney week, White started o with her three weeks run as a host from Monday, and Minnie Mouse took over the role of turning letters.
The 62-year-old being extremely excited about her new achieved role took to Twitter before the release of the episode and let her fans know about her new role for the next few episodes of Wheel of Fortune and wrote that the upcoming episodes are going to be very different.
The South Carolina resident tweeted that she is both excited and nervous about her new role and asked everyone to stay tuned to her first night as a host in Wheel.
The newly appointed host walked onto the stage alongside Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and explained why Sajak is missing.
She handled the part well and greeted everyone merrily. She went onto explain the reason behind Pka’s absence from the show and said that as he is recovering from the surgery she is happy to step in and help out. Meanwhile, she hopes that Pak gets well real soon and gets back on the show.
White also thanked Disney Magic as Minney has the power to light up the puzzle board.
Vanna played her role well while maintaining her calm and composure. However, she did make a small mistake towards the end that made her laugh at herself. At the end, when White had to give the wheel a final spin she was staring at the wrong arrow. She then asked her audience as to how do they play this game and also commented on how heavy that wheel is.
Since the show had shifted from the network version to the syndicated version back in the early 1990’s, the only hoist it ever entertained was Pat Sajak, but after all these years Wheel of Fortune is finally going to see a new face with Vanna White hosting her first episode on Monday.
Previously, Bob Goen and former NFL kicker Rolf Benirschke had taken over the hosting duties when the show had jumped from NBC to CBS, while Sajak tried his hands in the late-night version.
During the late 1990s, Pak Sajak and Alex Trebek had interchanged their job roles for a day and each one hosted the other’s game show.
Sajak finally began hosting Wheel in 1981 and it was only in the year 1982 when White had joined him as a co-host.
It was only last month when Pat Sajak underwent emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine and tweeted about his whereabouts by saying that everything went well and he would be back to work soon. Until then Vanna White would completely take over his role.
